Named one of The Wall Street Journal’s Top 100 Realtors nationwide, Rich has represented nearly eight hundred million dollars in residential and commercial sales through more than 40 years in the industry. Rich began his career in 1974 after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Economics. Rich has served as a director for the California Association of Realtors and, more recently, as a Sharron Heights Golf and Country club board member. He steadfastly but unsuccessfully tries to improve his golf game. Within two years of starting as a real estate sales agent, Rich founded his own real estate company. For 15 years, he combined his specialty in representing buyers and sellers and formed partnerships acquiring and managing over 35 homes in Palo Alto. Rich now works almost exclusively in the town of Atherton, where he has lived for more than 35 years. Rich maintains strong relationships with top local agents providing significant insight into current market conditions and trends.
Moving his focus to Atherton, Rich formed an exclusive relationship with the premier Atherton developer, The Wise Building Company. For over 15 years, they together successfully marketed over 90 million dollars of spectacular homes. Recently, Rich arranged the equity needed for LLCs developing two homes that recently sold for over Thirty-five million dollars. A third new home is underway and projected to sell for more than thirty million dollars. While these endeavors represent a significant portion of his business, he favors and continues to represent numerous traditional listing and sale transactions in Atherton.
These conventional transactions are his favorites as they bring his love of executing and managing all the work needed to exceed his client's expectations. Rich and his crews have been able to enhance each property's value with pre-sale improvements efficiently. This ability to focus on his clients' concerns and make personal connections and knowledge of what maximizes property value according to current market trends.
The bottom line is that he has continued, after 40+ years, to enjoy his work and client relationships. As his six children, wife, and many clients will attest.
